Heating system with only one two port valve. Is this dangerous ...

Came across a heating system which had only 1x 2 port valve which was used only for the heating. There was another valve which had been disconnected from the mains but set in open position. I assume this was for the hot water.

Then From the junction box there's one three core going up to 2 x cylinders in the loft. Am i correct in thinking this is dangerous?

Shouldnt there be a valve to control hot water to cylinders

Suprisingly they've used the cpc for earth. Am I right in assuming they've taken perm feed from a fused spur to give permanent feed to valves along with neutral and earth. Then dropped switch live to jb next to boiler

hot water don't need a valve it can be an open loop circuit with a swlive to the boiler if the cylinder stat is in place that's fine,also as previously mentioned the temp on the boiler can be controlled there too.

I would assume then that of the 3 cores 1 would be live from roomstat to valve 1 would be from cylinder stat(i think these go to brown on respective valves) then the 3rd core will go from orange linked from both valves which is switched live to boiler

The three core from the loft consists of 2 lives and one earth. One of the lives is from the orange and the other connects to s programmer

the switched out from the cylinder stat should connect to the brown in the hw zone valve

post 32 so they needed 2 cores and used a 3core and earth and used the extra core as earth, sounds like you have a swl for the boiler (orange) and a swl from the programmer which is connected to a cylinder statt or its connected to a room statt.
