I've just joined and wanted to say Hi.

I haven't got to grips with the rules. It seems there are some threads that I'm not permitted to view without having 50 posts under my account. I have no idea what this means.

Hello budgie. I think you picked up on some posts going missing?
This was an issue with the forum, which meant performing a rollback to last Sunday night.
Forum owner (dan) has assured us it shouldn’t happen again.

Apologies - As always, it's my fault. The thread explains a bit.

Hi Dan, I am reviewing all my forum memberships in the light of AI tools and a discussion needs to take place about members, the big hitters, with large investments in time and effort and also about the right to be forgotten, GDPR and in the US First Amendment protections and the lack of a Federal version of GDPR.

Is there a forum section that such a thread could be started or would you rather it didn't?

No mate that's not what this forum is for.

You can adjust your notification settings in your account options. There are some mandatory emails that everyone will get from time to time.

We aren't hosted in the UK or USA and traffic from those countries get the right messaging on their first visits and they can make adjustments to the 'Consent Management System' which I use Google for as they know what they're doing.

Short of that you'll just start a small war discussing such things on the forums.

Ok, fair do's. Out of interest do forums per se have a body that represents them?
