Hello I am a JIB time served electrician qualified to 17th Edition with 34 years experience that has just completed 5 years in Afghanistan, Iraq and South Africa...come back to UK and find i need all these different certificates....before i can get a job for £10.00 and hour.....thats what i got 25 years ago....................

Best way forward would be to contact the JIB direct to get the low down. If you have a valid JIB / ECS card you should have no issues. If not you may need to update some quali's although if you are 17th edition you should already be half way there.

Hi and welcome,

You'll have no probs with jib card getting on sites commercial/industrial. If you want to do notified domestic work sign away to part p.

Might be worth your while seeing out your remaining working years overseas. Certainly more profitable for you, if all that's available in your area is 10 quid an hour!!!
