Hi all, I am soon to start my 204 practical element of the 2365, most of you have probably already completed it, but i am guessing that some of you will not have dont it yet.

i hope the picture uploaded is of acceptable quality and size.

tray, trunking, pvc and conduit is already built
installation contains

a ring final containing 3x socket outlets and one fused connection unit (going through trunking and steel conduit

a radial wired in swa to supply a bs en 60309 socket outlet

lighting circuit in the pvc containing 2 x two way switches

bond gas and water pipework with a continuous conductor of the correct size

test the installation.

now im after some advice on the best way to attack this installation, and hints and tips, what to do first, make life easier etc etc that may be out there for it from both trainees and of course the guys running the forum!!

any and all help much appreciated,.....as always!! and thanks to matty for advice already given!

be methodical. pull in the larger size cables first. i would do the pulls from the load end to the CU so that when you're coming to the last cables, the pull will be easier, as the conduit gets fuller the closer you get to the CU.

.....makes all the sense in the world!!

much appreciated!!!

as its a ring, all cables have to return anyway dont they,....also iv numbered it 1,2,3 and 4, to avoid an empty return cable its going to have to be connected up i would assume in a different order, as we lose points for "excessive / unneeded" empty runs of cable"

im not questioning you tele, just trying to get it straight in my head

all help appreciated

and i tape the conductors of each circuit together every 3 ft. or so. i'd check with your tutor first though, as some sparks don't like this.

for a ring, pull in both legs together where they share the same containment.

the reasaon i do it is so that at any point, you can see which L.N and E ( or with 3 phase L1,L2,L3,N & E ), belong to each other. useful when fault finding.

edit: different colour tape for each cct.
