Hello all.
I've been asked to install this. I haven't got the foggiest.
It replaces an existing internal entry phone for a block of flats.
It has eight cores going into the existing phone and six teirminal in the new shiny one.
Call me an idiot, patronise me, question my professionalism but please help. I've got to do this tomorrow morning, then I'm out of there.
If you can help, please send me the idiots guide on what colours go in which holes please.

Many many thanks.

Gerry.

Hi Gerry,
Take a deep breath and look at the schematics. At first sight it may seem daunting, but it's not.
just follow the schematics in the instructions.
I'd like to help more but without seeing the instruction manual and the terminations at the door entry as well as the phone it would be hard to help.

As for which colours go where, it depends where the other end was terminated by original installer.

Who supplied the replacement? And as sparky chick questioned is it the same make or company? If it is a quick call to there help line may help. If it's not you'll have to rely on your schematic diagram and a little initiative.

First time I did one I felt the same, but I just used the instructions and a little common sense and I did it no problem.

Good luck

Sorry I wasn't more help
You're a great help. Thanks. The customer purchased it online. Probably because it looked flashy.

Been a block of flats you may wish to enquire whether these are private owned, rented then find out if there is a joint tarrif for the upkeep and maintenance of the communal areas. It may be the fact there is an existing maintenance contract on the go and or the existing system has over-rides for the likes of emergency services, workmen etc... simply just going in and doing what the customer asks may not be within their lease and or maintenance agreement if they had one.

Thank you. That all makes sense.
