Hello everyone (again)

Need some more advice please. Ok so this is a contactor, supplying as time clock which in turn controlled the three phase night storage board (which i have now removed). The clients want to keep the three phase setup for their night storage heaters because the electricity suppliers say that they are getting 14 hours cheap electricity this way. I will need to uy a new three phase board for the heaters but can i also replace this contactor or do i need one at all?

Thanks

Looking at the pictures the top of the existing contactor isn't properly sealed as such I would replace the contactor.
Suitably rated 3 pole contactors are easy to get hold of and relatively cheap, just make sure it's got a 230Vac coil.
Reason for the 230Vac coil means you can run it from the existing (or new) single phase timeclock.

I think Noah forgot to pack that contactor on the ark. Don’t get me wrong they were built like brick s**t houses, but everything has a life span! I’ve repaired contactors that were 75 years old (older than me, before anyone comes out with the comment)!
But it’s time it joined me in retirement.
You can’t get replacement contacts for them now so do a planned replacement, not one forced on you when it finally shuffles off it’s mortal coil (pun intended).

Totally of topic nice to see you back mate, was worried you may have been called to that great workshop in the sky ...........and was going to ask can I have your old AVO:innocent:

When I get shoved in that furnace I’ll be beyond caring. My son can sort the mess out afterwards.

BTW do you remember a few years ago about bodies exploding in crematoria due to pacemaker batteries?

Sorry chaps, another question, do i actually need the contactor AND what is the contactor doing in this situation. Talked to a few experienced sparks and they say the three supply alone is quite a strange thing in a standard 3 bed house!!

Without seeing or knowing the circuit layout I wouldn't be sure but it may be possible that it isn't actually 3 phase but 3 seperate single phase supplies. As I say a good inspection of the circiut would give you a few answers.

If they intend to carry on using E7 then yes. A Sangamo timer is rated at 15A 240V 1ph from what I remember, but there were smaller ratings.
You have to check the loading you’re going to put on it.
