I’m a time served electrical maintenance engineer. I have my 18th edition and a HNC in electrical engineering. I’m now self employed working as a subcontractor but am only being paid as a sparks mate. I need the gold card to get full money, can anyone advise me on the best way to get a gold card? Thanks

Hi Sean. Get in touch with the SJIB and they will put you on the right track. With the experience and qualifications you already have you might be able to get a gold card by completing an inspection and testing course. You could do this through Select, they have a training centre in Cambuslang.
