HELP needed........city and guilds 2357 NVQ portfolio

Hi, i have just received a letter from my local college stating that in need to have my NVQ portfolio complete by the beginning of October!.......i started in March.....and if not complete i fail the course.

is there a time limit for completing the NVQ portfolio? ( i thought i read 3 years somewhere)

surely they cant say this?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mine was 3 year's..... depending on your firm and variety of work that portfolio can take ages to do.

I did the 2330 and it was 3 years from when i started my nvq3 portfolio

exactly! they are pulling the **** saying it needs to be done by october........im raging at this!.......im trying to contact city and guilds at the min to see what the time limit is.

Took me about 18 months to get that NVQ done..... as i say it all depends on where you work.

that is a p*** take, colleges are so dis-organised and governed by cash rather than student needs they probably need you done by then to get some cash in or something from government.

city and guilds, if you get through would surely deal with that, i did mine in a few months but as said depends what you're doing. A few guys in my class back then rang round to get some work experience/weekend hours at local firms, got extra pics and filled sections like that. Dont know if thats an option?

Im applying for wknnd unpaid work as we speak, im sending out 10 letters a week, no hits yet.

spoke to city and guilds and there is no time limit and in there opinion 6 months is out of order.....in the process of writing a complaints letter to the principle........i cant even get through to the head of construction lol..........spoke to my nvq assessor and he agrees with me but the is nothing he can do.......i will seek citizens advice if it comes to it.

plus they are saying we need the AM2 complete by then also! though my tutor last year told me to wait a year until i had more experience before taking it!......****e college

This is my thinking, ive wrote a letter of complaint to the college expressing my feelings/thoughts and asking for a detailed explanation, though an explanation will be good it still wont cut it......i want reasonable time to complete my NVQ 3 and AM2.

Are you sure it is not October 2015 as i talked to my assessor on friday and he said my nvq needed to be dont by the 14/10/2015 so i have a good bit of time to do it also on the 2357 (which i am also on) i also need the am2 before i complete that's why i have booked it for this year! don t worry about what your tutors say just go to your college and apply for the am2 its what i did. i hope you get this sorted mate cos if they want it by next month then there taking the p i s s lol
