Help needed to solve why speakers click when the electric heater goes on

Can anyone tell me why they think the electric ignition from a heater being turned on could cause a click in nearby speakers, and even better how it can be prevented. They are about a meter apart and the speakers are on stands resting on a polyester carpet. It happens on speakers in 2 separate rooms with the nearby heaters.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Some "interesting" information in this thread! Could the orignal poster please put a picture of the gas heater and the affected equipments up, and also do a quick test do you still have a problem with the volume turned down?
