Hi all, I have been asked to put some spot lights in a bathroom, however they have no RCD board. The problem is the house is being extended and the exsiting board is going to be move into the extension (approx 30 metres away) so it seems a waste of money to move the board. also I think the new incoming supply will be to far for the circuits to be extended. so I am going to wire a 16mm t+e from the extension to a central point in the house. Does that sound ok? Thanks

Personally I wouldnt what happens if they decide due to cost not to move the board? What they plan for the future is not your concern you have to work to 17th ed why not suggest that the lights are put in when the board is moved.

Why not just install an RCBO for the lighting circuit your working on
& ask them to call you when they are ready for the other work to be done ?
