Hi I'm in need of some help i had a fuseboard changed to a dual split rcd protected board as our old one was way out date, the cables were extended using juction boxes and the correct cables have been used the terminations themselves have been terminated like for like too! When the electrician made it live the lighting circuits tripped the rcd, I've had a look on other websites about lighting circuits and faults it may possibly be and noticed most lighting circuits have 1 1/1.5mm twin and earth at the mcb yet mine has two? Could this be causing the problem ? Would like to know a little if I can as to why it would even have 2 in the first place it all looked origanal when he took the thing apart any help would be appriciated gcs

you try and put the lights and sockets from one floor on different sides therefore if the power goes you will still have some power on one floor .

eg if lights went on 1st floor then you will still have power so you would be able to plug in table lights,

the say down stairs sockets should be on with the upstairs lights, upstairs sockets with downsatairs lights, thus insuring you had continuity of service in the event of an rcd tripping.

Take the lamp out of the landing light, two way switchlines wired from down stairs lighting circuit and neutral return wired through first floor lighting

How is best to wire 2 4pin clicks and a 3pin for a pir an em light and a non emergency light via a key sw cheers and if poss can you break down for me so can understand it easily thank you

I have wired some lights which includes em lights and they are fed off a key sw, when the key sw is open all the lights are on and the led is on on the em fitting which is good but when I flick the key sw the lights stay on and the em goes into em mode which is good but the led then goes off, should this happen or wen in test mode should the led still be on and only go off wen power failure,

LED is charge indicator so when you turn off the PERM feed the light goes into EM mode and doesnt charge leave powered up 24hrs then test for full duration 1hr/3hr depending on the fitting
