I agree with everything put here so far, I should of done more checks before i asked him to do the work, i'm too trusting i think,
I should of researched it,
I would never stand over him and I find that working the same day as other trades can actually slow you down.
The work looked fine and was tidy, this is what i mean by the work was ok.
I do not know if it was to standard although it looked tidy, it went around the room in trunking and all worked.
what i meant was i do not know anything about electrical certification, part p, 17th edition, notification to the building control, i.e.
I got his details from one of those websites, that give work out to tradesmen, I never did my research as i was going to use him for another job in my house, although this job never went ahead and I never did the research as required.
Well lesson learned, next time I will use a different electrician and ensure he has all relevant paper work and i receive the certificates before payment is made.
