Can anyone help please,, I have not done Electrics for a while and was wondering if somebody can give me some light on this question?

The company I work for does not belong to napit, nic eic ect and was wondering if I was to do a total re-wire of a two bedroom flat who will I have to notify of this work? and also what is the going rate these days for a total re-wire for a 2 becroom flat, I have done part P and 17th edition ect so i have all the qualifications to do the job.

Thanks

S:)

Your local area building control will have to be notified before work starts. Ask them what they require as if you can prove your part P qualifications they may allow you to self cert and notify.
There is no going rate....it all depends on the number of points ....flush/surface?.....Tot up the materials allow a week or two depending on the amount of work, arrive at a figure and double it......job done.

Dont forget, per point, a light is 2 points switch and pendant, same with cookers and showers.

I quote my price based on labour cost, plus materials marked up at 25%, and then add 10% for profit and 2.5% contingency in case i forget anything. Dont forget the dreaded VAT if you are a member of that club.

Cheers........Howard
