Hi all

Im just about to leave the army after been a vehicle mechanic for over 11years. Im 27 and wanting to start a new hands on carear as I hated that fact that I was getting stuck behind a desk more as I progressed through the ranks. Currently I have Part P and 17th Edition, soon to be compleating 2392, PAT, 2394 & 2395.

I know alot of people will hate the so called 5min course sparky but I want to try get going quickly but will continue to gain more expiriance and qualifications as I go. I know im going to have to start from the bottom and take a massive pay cut :( Im going to be trying to get started in preston idealy but if a company give me a chance ill travel.

All help and advice is welcome

cheers

Best of luck to you mate, seems like you have the right attitude to work. I'm sure you'll be ok, just need to get as much experience under your belt as you can! A busy few years ahead i think, but it will be worth it! (lots of weekends working etc!)

Cheers every one :- D I know it's going to be tough starting out, even just leaven the army is going to be a bit strange but hopefully it will all be worth it lol. Realistically how much could a unexpected spark be looking at getting? Am I right in thinking ill prob have to go down the sparky mate rough for abit?
One advantage I do have over others is that I could posible go to a company for a work place ment and they would have me as a free triel run basically. Just need to see if anyone will give me chance to set off with, fingers crossed
