help with 12 v selv extractor fan

hi all
help needed with selv fan i have fitted in my bathroom please. this is just a replacement as i had one in before, the only problem is that the fan operates as normal when the lights are switched on but the fan is not knocking off after a predetermined time as it should when the lights are switched off. has anyone come accross this problem before or am i missing something fairly obvious??

Is it a like for like fan?
Were the connections like for like?
Does the fan have an adjustable dial for the time?

Did you replace both the fan and the transformer?

Although some fans will work with a different transformer it isn't always the case! I'm assuming you have your 3 connections correct.

i replaced both the transformer and the fan, but they were slightly different. it is simple to wire as you all know i have a feed from the lights sw/L, L and neutral which goes to the isolating switch and then to the corresponding terminals into the transformer, then the cable to the fan. like i say the fan operates with the lights but fails to switch off (the timer setting is set to minimum) the reason i think i am missing something obvious is that i dont think its a fault with the fan as i have installed two of them and they both fail to switch off when the lights are turned off.

grw1, did you find the answer here? did you have the sw/L & L the right way round or was there any jumpers that could be adjusted?
