Hi,

I have done my 2330 lv 2 204-206 assesments along with the 203

I passed them all except the 203

Having waiting 6 weeks for the results the part of the test i failed has gone out of my head

Looking at the notes and course material i have it doesnt include anything that will help me revise

I know that the bit i failed had not really been touched upon during the training

the section i failed is where you need to take a reading from a circuit then calculate the impedance or at least i think it was that you are given a formula to use but having not really done more then 10 min in the class room it has me stuck

Has anyone done this exam and know how to do it?

i have my re-sit this monday only booked it friday when i got my results!! need to get it passed ASAP so i can move on

Thanks for any help anyone can offer

Stressed
Rob

How did your exam go Apollo?
Hope you passed mate.

It went well the tutor had a quick look when i had done and gave me the thumbs up so i am hopefull

I was pretty simple in the end think i paniced because i couldnt recall the bit i failed

anyway it was one of the ones you mentioned use the readings in this formula Z=sqrtR(Xl+Xc)2

so level 3 here i come when i get my results back which take the mick! but with some luck should be doing 301 july which i think will be simple enough i hope! studying now and wishing i had have done this from leaving school

any tips on getting through the later exams?

Cheers for your help with this one day i will be able to help others

Good on you for passing Apollo. But I'm a little confused here. Are you at college or a Training or skill place? As when I did all my exams, apart for the practical, I did them on a PC (think it's online). It's a closed exam so you can't let anyone look at the questions or answers. I only flag this up as it would be a shame if you wasn't getting the proper C&G 2330 qualification. You also mention that you start the Level 3 in July which I also have signed up for, but mine starts in September. This one is a lot harder, by all accounts but I am on with some reading, I have some level 3 notes and going through them between now and September..
But anything I can help with, I will too mate..

Cheers
Ian

Its a training center i checked with C&G and its an approved center so the qualifications are all correct, some exams via a pc this one was paper i think because it was to test record results and use given formula these are then maked by the tutor (hense the thumbs up) sent off to an assesor the assesed again.

as its a training center that normally works 2 weeks on 2 off they do variouse levels all year round which means you just book the course dependant on where you get to you do need to pass each exam to progress though

i know the 3-4 year route is better and would make it easier to learn pass ect but its not an option for me i am working with a spark i know so not going out on my own wont do that for a couple of years

I am reading up on the level 3 stuff they have given me looks to be for the first Gola exam health and safety stuff and loads on motors along with earthing methods along with a couple of formulas there is another 2, 2 hour written exams which i belive are very hard but i think they are open book so notes are ok to take in but i will double check that

I don't know if you have ever used it or heard of it Electrical Installation Revision Page
Gives you a good heads up for Level 3.FREE LEVEL 3 REVISION EXERCISES, you can buy additional material from him and I have for level 3 and it's worth it. It gives you an idea of what to expect. Unit 301 is a 40 question multi choice exam. And 302 + 303 are written papers with some testing and fault finding thrown in for good measure. Do the training center offer the AM2, which is the most important part of this qualification. But it's just a case of keep trying and plodding along Apollo, it will happen, but it's a long hard slog. But I reckon will be worth it in the long run..

Yeh i have been using the revision page for the 301 i have been reading through so far getting 1 point of a pass at the moment but it is my first read through.

I belive but am not sure that the AM2 is for apprenticeships and not offered by any collage its an independant assesment i will be doing an NVQ lv 3 when i have completed the course 2330,17th,2391/92 with some luck i will be working with this spark i know and can use this to get me through my NVQ doing a course this way i find the hardest bit to be getting experience trying to find someone who will take you on is almost impossible dont think people are aware of this when they first set out,

saying that apprenticeships are now few and far between i really do wish i had done this when i left school but have to make the best out of a bad situation plus the ÂŁ6k cost for the course is an insentive!
