I'm about to wire a contactor tomorrow and have never done this think I have an idea what I'm doing just looking a bit of guidance if anyone could help. The contactor will have a mains from the board at it, a 3core and earth from sensor and cable from the lights.

Am I right in saying,
my permanent live goes into 1
then my live to sensor also into 1
switched live into A1
neutral from sensor into 2
neutral from board into a2
and lighting cable live to 3
and neutral to 4

Anyhelp would be appreciated think I'm overthinking and confusing myself.

Your first three steps are correct assuming the switch live is the return from the sensor. Assuming your contactor terminals switch 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 your later steps are not correct.

Sorry they do, I was meant to have said

neutral from sensor into 3
neutral from board into a2
and lighting cable live to 2
and neutral to 4

Hopefully that's right never worked with one before and college hasn't taught us anything about them just going off what I have been finding for wiring diagrams online

Thanks for your help

Nearly there but the coil neutral (A2) and sensor neutral need to be common together along with the neutral from the board.

a pic of the contactor would help.
