Could someone please tell me where i can go to get this qualification in the south west region??

Depends whereabouts you are in the SW:

Bournemouth and Poole college, Bridgwater college, Yeovil college and City college Plymouth all look to have offerings of HND in electrical engineering.

I get bait confused with it all, some are HND others are HNC and you can also go straight into a degree :confused5:
Just think of it as HND=full time, HNC=part time (some real world experience)

If you want to go straight to a degree check out UCAS and see if you have enough for what you want to do.

a degree equates to 360 UCAS points, an HND 240 and an HNC 120. an HNC consists of 10 Higher National Units, while an HND is made up of 16, both these qualifications are on the same level in the National Qualifications Framework. there is nothing to stop you completing an HNC and then a few years down the line, do an additional 6 units and be awarded an HND.
as for degree entry, an HNC will get you onto the first year of the degree course while an HND with good results(you dont overall pass or fail HN qualifications, you would get a pass/merit/distinction result for each unit which show on your certificate) may allow you direct entry onto year 2 of a degree. all universities have different entry criteria, Queens in Belfast for example wants to see your nursery school reports, well maybe as far back as the old 11plus.
