I just tried to replace the light switch but I didn't took a picture or even try to look how it was wired.
I'm getting out of my mind I've tried 3 new switches and it keeps turning down the main circuit breaker when I try to turn on the light
what am I doing wrong ?
I connected
brown to brown
blue to black
everything is fine. but when I add the light switch and turn it on , circuit breaker getting down

white wires goes to kitchen light and I dissconnected them both

a place next to Palestine ,,imho I would seek a local spark for that light switch .
He's used the UK thread prefix so that confused me.

I've moved it to the overseas forum until confirmation from the OP.

I'm with buzz. That needs checking what's on the other end of all those wires it's not a case of knowing what the black one does based on a picture.

I'm afraid. :(

Sorry @TommyZC I don't think anybody will be able help online. Inc this forum.

It is going to be very difficult if not impossible for a UK based electrician to give you advice from afar. Were all those wires connected into the old switch. Have you looked in another of your switches for some if any comparison.

AC.

You know it's very unlikely that any of the wires are DC.

I know that in Gaza due to their current situation, they have rudimentary DC systems rigged up of banks of car batteries etc.

But if you're on the grid all the wires will be AC.

It's well out of my scope this so I'll not contribute any more. :)

I'd be inclined to get somebody in. You've tripped some wiring a few times there. What does that do to wiring that's not meant to have polarity changed or different currents running through it? - Well over my head this stuff.

I think he means Air Conditioning system?

sorry Im not that smart at this .
theres no way to find out how it was connected ?
Did you take the old switch off and were all those wires connected to it. As previously stated it is highly unlikely anyone can advise you without guessing which isn't a safe way to proceed.

I did consider this but ended up going with this one. I wired it inline with the lives and works great.
