Recently got cables ready to put through new ceiling. New ceiling now up and customer has decided to do away with one of the lights. My question is there a suitable method of making the ends of the cable safe other than making a big hole in the new ceiling and terminating cable in junction box.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

Don't you just love customers!
You say making ends of cable safe. Suely if its's just a power supply cable looped from another light then just don't connect it at the other end. It'll be perfectly safe then. lol

If you're saying you can't access the JB, then the only way will be to add a JB on the end of the unused cable - hardly ideal. However, you say you'd have to make a hole to do this - so surely you can access the existing JB the same way and disconnect the unused cable, thus doing the job right. And I hope said JB is maintenance free (if you can't access it)!

cut a hole in the ceiling to gain access to the JB alter the wiring so its permernanly live and stick a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector over the hole job done thats as long as its not just a switch wire if it is use a battery detector

Yes used 17th edition maintenance free J/B
Cheers

DOH!
Looks like it'll have to be a hole in new ceiling then. Unless you can access from above by lifting floor.
However if you do have to cut into ceiling just remember it's the customer who has changed their mind, so they can't complain too much about having to put a hole in their lovely new ceiling, can they!
