Hi there,

DIY user looking for a bit of help, here. Our oven element has blown, so I ordered a replacement and opened things up to replace it. However, when I got to removing the old element, I was faced with these screws securing it to the oven casing (pictures below). Being pretty green when it comes to DIY, I've never come across them before.

Is there a way to remove the element from from here, or with these screws is it necessary to gain access to the back of the unit?

Any help really gratefully received.

Cheers,
M.

TL;DR
Can't remove oven element: weird screws.
and the connections are on the other side also (usually spade connectors). ensure appliance is isolated before commencing.

Thanks very much, both. I figured as much.
done several. need to pull oven out and if it's in a unit, place on some sort of support like a workmate so you can get at the connections and screws with the back off. check that the spades go back on tight or re crimp new ones on.
