Have my part p assessment on a PV install shortly, im being assessed on the pv install only but of course have to make sure the earthing, main bonding and supplementary bonding is adequate but not sure where i stand with regards supplementary bonding in the bathroom.
Bathroom - radiator, taps, shower (mixer) all supplied by pvc pipes.
- whirlpool motor under bath (not accessible so outside zones) has 30 mA rcd protection at socket outside of bathroom as well as 30mA rcd at CU
- SELV lighting circuit - no rcd protection as required (701.411.3.3) but this is not for me to correct, i would normally stick it
on an rcbo to make life easy but as i have stayed clear of the main CU and installed a dedicated 2-way for the PV circuit i
dont really want to be opening that can of worms (the existing installation is iffy to say the least)
The problem is, for supplementary bonding to be omitted (701.415.2) ALL final circuits must have additional protection by means of rcd, but i cant see why it would be required in this situation?.
No doubt i'm wrong on this one.
Any thoughts?
