Helping computer programs to help understand wiring systems etc etc??

Hi, ive been in and out of electrical for a while and have never quite grasped alot of wiring systems, i.e heating systems. Alot of the time im on the job im sitting in the dark as to whats going on which im fed up with. Ive discovered the internet and the computer a very quick and powerful tool for learning things, this forum being a good example. But what im looking for is some sort of handy computer program that can accelerate my knowledge of electrical systems, im sure they exist out there and im hoping you lads are privy to there where abouts, thanks in advance.

there is nothing a computer can teach. it can only point you in the right direction. you will learn more by reading posts on this forum than any computer program.

Couldn't agree more with telectrix.....

'Electrical systems' is a very broad scope!!! If you feel 'in the dark' on site then start with the questions, try and make a diagram etc.... this will help. If one tries to work things out then one learns the best way....

With regard to heating systems - google image search for 's plan' and 'y plan' will show you some basic typical wiring diagrams....

hope this helps.... although you'll learn far more through the people teaching you than the internet if you ask thee right questions.

how do computer programmers learn to program computers? do pilots not first practice flying a plane in a computer simulation? you learn by doing and with computers today its possible to simulate an electrical job.

not really. you can't simulate the use of tools. only thing that might be of use is tutorial videos. sure there must be some on tinternet if you look.

For electronics, yes, there are programs that can help. But not for electrical work.
