Hi messed up confused. Changing 3 way switch to 2 way switch

No it does not. Did the original switch three sets of lights through the three switches.

The problem here is we do not know the original set up but I can only guess it was three plate switching because there were only three cables at the switch. Next problem we do not know how you have altered the wiring and whether the this type of switching is still in situ. We can often tell people what wires go where but sometimes as in your case it is not wise for us to guess and even if you manage to get the correct sequence your connections are so poor you are asking for trouble. So I will say it, employ the services of an electrician.

I have just finished the book about how to do DIY wiring by dumber & dumber, on amazon you could get a copy before they run out !

If you had got an electrician in before you disconnected everything it would have taken him/her less than 15 mins to sort.

Now he/she will have to identify all the cables before proceeding. Much longer to sort. More expensive.
