Hi not an electrician, but experienced in industry

Hello everyone, i have joined the forum with the intentions of trying to find a way to re-train as an Electrician.

I am 22 and have 6 years industry experience in engineering.

Started working on submarines in Engineering for 4 years.

Have since spent a year working in a factory as an engineer technician, and more recently for Princess yachts building luxury superyachts.

Got laid off several weeks ago due to the company making cost saving moves and agency contractors being first in line for the chop.

I want to become an electrician because i have always enjoyed the electrical side of the jobs i have done, i have looked into doing the courses through skills/training centres that you see advertised on the TV but none of them have very good reviews.

I'm hoping anyone on the forum can help me out

I don't have any electrical qualifications. I have the engineering qualifications from the Navy but these are in Weapons Engineering and they are the Navys own qualifications, i managed to find my previous two jobs on the back of my experience rather than my qualifications. But i am now beginning to realise that i need to get these all important qualifications to progress anywhere.
