High continuity reading when testing lighting circuit

Hi any ideas when i have conducted the cont test on a lighting circuit R1+R2= 44.5 any ideas???

Are your test leads in good nick? is tester calibrated? Have you checked your kit on a known good circuit?

Hi tester just come back from cal centre,leads are a new set and i've tested a seperate supply to a lighting circuit in the cellar with spot on readings??

IR reading of 33.9 meg (R1+Rn joined) to cpc. i know this passes but this is quite low also???

R1 + R2 should be carried out at every point on the circuit so is your reading bad from point 1 onwards or does it jump up between 2 points.

sounds like yo are reading the resistance of a lamp

first two points are good R1+R2 well within spec, then yes it jumps to the next

check connections 2nd and 3rd point

checked connections on all fittings,luminaires,switches etc

maybe an ariel booster hard wired

Then check between cpc's at these points with a wander lead. Could be a bad connection at a jb out of sight.

jb out of sight might be a good bet,circuit looks to of been tampered with in the past!!!
