HNC Level??

Hi folks, could anybody tell me accurately what level a HNC is (with regards to NVQ) in England/Wales? I was just looking at a job online and it asked for a level five qualification. I've found some info saying HNC is level 4 and other info saying HNC is level 5, it's all different up here so it's a bit confusing....cheers, Jimmy

On the National Qualifications Framework HNC is level 4 (it used to be level 5 apparently) HND is level 5.
