Hi Guys. Got a kitchen jobs coming up and there is only a 6mm out to hob oven at the mo. New oven specified is 7.4kw and there is 2 single ovens at 3.4Kw each. Total Plate load is 14.2Kw. When I looked at job I thought I would run in another supply. But working it out with diversity all 3 will be 28.52A. I will be putting them on separate isolation switches. Seems close, but ok with regs. Have any of you done similar, Must say I have never heard of an overload issue on 32A cooker circuits before but......./

New oven alone is rated at 30a.

I wouldn't do it.

Murdoch, there is a 32A MCB fitted, cable is protected against overload. Besides, If they do that that is not my responsibility. I will note on EIC what appliances are connected. Xmas day could be an issue I guess but I will have been paid by then and am not in breach of regs.

I would play this one safe and put in another 6mm for the 2 x 3.4Kw single ovens. You said it yourself "Christmas day will be interesting". Nothing wrong with the regs or what everyone has said, but we all know that you will be getting a call the first time the customer has a big family get together to show off their new kitchen for a Sunday dinner when the Yorkshire puddings are flat because the fuse "thingy" keeps tripping.

Good point, its a kitchen so should not be that far away BUT???

"The local fuse box is in the double garage just next door to the horse stables some 50m away! Its also a PME, is that a problem?" LOL

For a customer with this amount of ovens and hobs, I dont think I'm too far from my above tongue in check post.
