Hi Guys. Got a kitchen jobs coming up and there is only a 6mm out to hob oven at the mo. New oven specified is 7.4kw and there is 2 single ovens at 3.4Kw each. Total Plate load is 14.2Kw. When I looked at job I thought I would run in another supply. But working it out with diversity all 3 will be 28.52A. I will be putting them on separate isolation switches. Seems close, but ok with regs. Have any of you done similar, Must say I have never heard of an overload issue on 32A cooker circuits before but......./

and if method C would you stay at 32A?

New kitchen, not going to be all clipped direct. Its going to be at least on the walls if its a council/student house so method B. And if the previous sparky did his job correctly and put the 6mm on a 32A mcb then that shows me there is insulation in the kitchen walls...... simples.

If it was my job:- Oven and hob on one circuit and the two new ovens on another regardless of existing cable feed. This way they can always cook food to feed the family if one rcd goes down.

Going by the info given, its a kitchen, it will be (normally) close to the c/u, through a new feed in whilst the kitchen fitters are ripping out and Mr wet pants has the floor boards up lol.

That's an incredibly interesting point!!

Sure you wouldn't be using all the rings at the same time, BUT judging by the noises ours makes, they are not on/off like normal hobs!

How is the heating on the induction areas controlled then?? I know that mine is, and is accompanied with a red lndicator light showing when the power is on.

Check the manu instrs for the cooker.

Some allow grill and oven on at same time ("pizza setting") which kind of messes up diversity calcs.

the one I fitted took no chances and came pre wired with a 'pipe' out the back - looked like a bit of 25mm2 SWA but was in fact 3 core heat resistant 10mm2 black flex....and it stated in instructions 10mm2 minimum for fixed wiring dependant on ref method

Having installed numerous kitchens with this sort of arraignment of cooking appliances, I would run in a new circuit to each of 6mm,but de-rate the MCB's for the 2 ovens. Covers the current arraignment and future eventualities
