We’ve just moved in to our new flat and the hob keeps tripping the RCD.

I’ve checked the cabling behind the oven and can see the following.

Oven is connected to a plug socket, this runs to a blanking plate that has the hob wired into it and then it runs on to a counter top red switch and plug that connected the entire hob/oven to the fuse box.

Any ideas why it’s blowing ? I can’t see any issues and it’s worked prior to us moving in so guessing could be damp ??? If that’s the case how do I check the internals for issues.

That is a seriously poor job I would recommend getting an electrician in to reinstal that who can then look at the tripping issue.
same as what he says. get a local spark on the job.

I know it’s behind the worktop and out of sight but there should be never any excuse to not get the socket and connection plate in-line & straight. This however is just a small niggle compared to that joke of a connection.

Whoever has done this is a complete Cockburn.

Get it checked by a local spark bro

Check the clearance between the back panel and/or terminal cover that you've removed. Look for small burn marks.
