I'm interested to see what home made tools and labour saving devices you have concocted to make your lives easier.
I am posting a pic of something I have made to convert my standard extension lead into a wander lead for R2 measurements.
This is mark2 as someone pinched my first one. I know Kewtech make something but this cost me nowt to make and works a treat as long as you remember to null the whole extension lead. View attachment 24603

Many years ago I used to keep my tools in a locked outhouse but someone decided they needed them more than I did, an old mate of my dad's who was a toolmaker heard about my loss and knocked one day with a full set of drivers he'd knocked up in his shed.
No insulation on them, wooden handles but what a cracking bit of kit they were.
I'd already replaced a lot of my gear and didn't have the heart to do anything but thank him very much for them. My brother has them now and they're still going strong 20+ years later

When working away I was staying in a holiday cottage on site someone decided it was a good idea to put yale locks on the bedrooms while we were staying there but gave us no keys so i made a tool to slip the locks, made out of ice cream tub lid cut up with side cutters, looked horrific worked a treat.

Not a tool but i have used unistrut for all sorts of things it was never intended for.

Nothing to do with electrical, the last tool I made was a slogging spanner for removing the head assembly from my espresso machine at home. It took me half a day to make the tool and I've used it only twice for about 1 minute each time. Works like a treat though so it was time well spent.

I'm a dab hand at turning PVC conduit into knives and forks for when you've forgotten some in your lunch box!

Worked in Tel Aviv,Israel, years ago,at night on site, got bored making, hardening and tempering chisels out of 32mm Re-bar,so decided to make a functioning unicycle out of only re-bar,8 to 20 odd mm...took 3 nights and then we entertained the bemused arab lads on site ridin' the contraption...bet it's in Netanyahoos cellar now...

There was an old spark I knew who worked at the loco works,he was proper old school and could literally do anything, well this guy wanted a feed to a pond pump in the middle of his lawn which was like a bowling green.Old John welded an augur bit to a length of 20 mm conduit and drilled horizontally til he came out in the pond, screwing lengths together as he went, when he'd done he took the augur off the end and threaded the cable through, absolutely brilliant.
