Anyone know of a cheapish home speaker system were you can have an AMP in the cupboard with speakers in each room and audio control in each room

that wont be cheap you will need as many amp chanels as you have rooms, try looking a CLOUD stuff there not top price but there not cheap howevere their stuff will do as you require.

Sonos is where its at my friend, whatever option wont be cheap though

Sonos has been the preferred option on the few installs I have seen

Cheaper option...

Computer set up to an amp and wifi, with songs on iTunes, iTunes open... Can use multiple iPhone or iPad to control song selection etc using free remote.

Down side, same tune played thru out speaker set up tho.
