I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. for years when people have been hungry they've been saying 'oh, I could eat a horse'
now when they find out they indeed have, they're up in arms about it!

At least things are improving in the food supply chain.

We've gone from Typhoid in Corned Beef when I was growing up,
Thro Salmonella in Eggs,
BSE in Beef,

An now a mind case of the wrong type of meat.

We're getting there..

if they were giving us the finest cuts of horse steak i wouldn't have a problem with it.

but when they say "horse DNA", what exactly are they talking about? i don't really fancy a 36" bell-end in my burger.

They are using DNA testing to prove the origin of the meat.
They'd be able to prove if it was Cat, Dog, Human, Badger etc.

Just take a look in the trolleys when you next go to the supermarket, can't imagine many people will be buying meat they can't identify by looking at it!

The same meat cuts they would have used from cows, the meat that's not suitable for steaks or other fine cuts.

I've been eating horse for all these years and I'm not actually sure I'm going to like beef when they start using it.
