hi all . i was just wondering the usall Kw of a hot tub. and what way you would all install it. eg. Cu in to a islotor close to the hot tub in SWA and then flex from there??? all help would be great thanks

Depends on how big the hot tub is mate? I used to put a rotary rcd isolator with plug and lead then flex to tub. If you look on the plate by the access to the pump etc it will tell you the rating or look in instructions

Endless mate do you not have the hot tub ? I can't remember off the top of my head the best thing to do is look on the net at the rating of hot tubs the same size. If it was me I always wait until the hot tub is there before I install anything

SWA supply cable, Rotary isolator, earth rod at the load end, maybe SY cable to the tub.

The electrode should help to eliminate any small differences in the potential of any exposed conductive parts of the tub and the general mass of earth.

some require a type c mcb due to the high start up load! all depends on manufacturers requirements or reccomendations. this obviously puts the size of the cable up as im sure u are aware.
hope this helps?

These vary in load from 13A plug in ones to 32A monsters. You sure there isn't a rating plate on it ? If you know the make and model you should be able to search for its instructions.

I usually make the final connection from isolator to tub in H07RN-F, which Edmundsons do by the metre (I keep 2.5, 4 and 6 in stock for hobs and ovens too). How you supply the isolator depends on where it's located and the route the cable must take, but often it's swa.
