How can they justify the increase in your electricity bill !?

Why do the electricity companies increase the per-unit price after a set number of units? I usually see the price almost double after 300 units.

It’s frustrating when electricity prices jump, especially when usage hasn't changed much or even when the energy comes from renewables. One thing that might help explain this is how suppliers, like E-on or others, pass on costs. Even if you’re using 100% renewable energy, the overall system’s infrastructure, maintenance, and distribution fees still come into play. So, the rise in oil prices indirectly affects the overall grid, impacting renewables too.

That was ex-vat six days ago - just checked now and it's gone up to 96p ex VAT

The above is a quote from May 2022, just filled my oil tank at £0.54/ltr inc VAT so half the price in May 2022, strange world.
