Hi
I am working on a project and ran a cable down the wall for light switch but the wall is old batten style.
The wall is going to be skim sometime later this week but I am curious how would the back box be sorted later on. I am not sure if dry lining box would be an option. Any help or ideas
thanks

cut into the timber if necessary for depth.then fix metal back box with dryline adhesive.

Plenty of other threads on this type of fixing for back box's, but look for "Lath and Plaster" rather than batten.

Tel's suggestion will work as long as there is something for the plaster to stick too, recommend Carlite Bonding or Hardwall.
