And theres us merry lot telling new comer's to the site who are at college that they need to do 17th before they'll even be considered for a job.............what do we know lol

you still see it in a lot of adverts. usually though, they ask for 'qualified to 16th or 17th edition' - but these are normally maintenance jobs.

It's dog eat dog out there!! I was made redundant after I came out of my time and landed a job for 9.50 an hour ...worked out 300quid a week which I could barely pay the mortgage with. Tough times! But sayin that they wernt jib registerd so they could pay their lads what they wanted...

At 41yrs, working towards completing my apprenticeship, dreaming one day of being paid a good wage, well just going to have to complete for the love of it. But my concern is for the future of my kids what trades will be thriving in ten years from now?
