Discuss How long does a FULL RE-WIRE take? in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Im about 90% through a full rewire on a grade 2 listed property. Thought it would take 2 weeks, and Im goint to over run by a couple of days. Charged £3700 all in, thick walls (3 foot) and casing up to 25 foot ceilings has delayed things slightly. 7 weeks is taking the biscuit especially when the house is empty. Ive had to piece this one together as the couple are living in the property and this does slow things down.

Think I've figured it out. The electricians are retired government officers that have done a 2 week online "become a sparky dotcom" and take 3 days to decide whether to space the cable clips 29cm or 30cm apart. :D..... but really 7 weeks and still counting? You should start charging him rent. Have you checked your basement and loft? He might be waiting for his crops to cultivate.

Have you changed your mind at all about anything you originally said you wanted doing?
Also you still haven't told us the electrician's excuse for having taken so long.
