I'm not a sparky as such because most days I don't get my hands dirty but I've been working in the electrical field for about 20 years.

Relocated from General Electrical.

About 27 years... and I still learn lots of stuff by reading things on this site.

5 Weeks and know everything! :drunk:
Right then, how do you wire a 2 way switch again :001_9898:
You're an old hand then. Seventeen days here mate:)

Seriously though it's 33 years since the start of my apprenticeship and as stated by others every day's a school day

beat you there , trev. 1966 when i started learning how to make a light work.

28 years and new things every day when I started who would have thought we would be heating houses from cold air lol.

Look not for the faults in others but for the perfection on yourself.

Half my life.....18 years, but when I was about 7 or 8 a sparks came to my parents to fit a float switch in a tank to operate a rain water pump.I thought he was a genius(he probably was).I have since rewired the house.

It's funny as I do recall how highly regarded this tradesman was held. How times have changed.

Left school on the Friday in 1967, Started work on the Monday at 15 Years old earning £3-00 a week for 44 hours. So I guess it's 45 years for me!

Before I retired I was a spark for 27 years,in the end when people asked me what I did for a living I used to tell people I was a gynaecologist,a reflection on the type of people I was working with.Go figure!

Started apprenticeship in 1975 so 37years and counting. picked up £14-00 a week when at college I did block release several weeks at a time earned a bit more on site .

God hermetic you surprise me but we have some in common I left school on the Friday arrived at work on the Monday but I was asked what I was doing there I should have been on the boat at 7.30 in the morning to go to collage but no one had told me so went home packed a bag and set off from home for the first time in my life. I was away for 6 weeks and had no where to stay when I left and never phoned home or anything but my mother had to call the collage to check I was alive so embarrassed but best fun ever that was in 84 and a wage of £28
