Hi guys, this is what i encountered this weekend...

One of my neighbours has had a shower fitted by one of his mates that 'knows all about electrics' (upon investigation i have found out that he is not a member of a scheme but is supposed to be qualified and experienced). The cable runs straight through the kitchen wall and exterior wall and up to the next floor, clipped direct, no conduit installed and no cable protection at all (see pic).

Secondly, his house is beside a public walkway so the cable is just there waiting to be damaged by a member of the public, kids play football against this wall and people park along side the wall.

Lastly, he has an old re-wireable fuse box so no RCD protection (i know this because he asked me to replace the pull cord which stopped working within two days - i politely declined)

So people, how many reg have been broken? I can count about 5 without even picking up my BGB... [ElectriciansForums.net] How many breeches of regs???

3 kW ???
seriously , how tight do you have to be to fit a piddlying pointless unit like that ?
Tightwad customers are a total bane , luckily they nearly always get what they deserve lol.
And that pic of t&e flapping about in the wind will get nicked by the first pikey that sees it.

3kw shower? Might as well plug it in on the landing. Not much worse than that c***, and at least the general public would be safe.lol!

LABC will be interested in that if the walkway is public access. Child passing on a bike clips the cable with the handlebars + rewireable 30A = LABC sued to beyond and back if they've been notified and not acted.

Errmm, sorry to spoil the fun guys but i think i may have typed 3KW, when i should have typed 7KW. I wondered what you were all talking about then i re-read my own post...i never fail to balls these posts up....and it was all going so well dammit!

Think I would be tempted to tell the LBC as a concerned member of the general public as it is not even on private land. This should not be allowed to remain in place.

I honestly think they will not be bothered & I question why we should be bothered about Part P & schemes etc.

All these regulations / restrictions / scams exist ONLY because WE allow them to.

If every spark in the country agreed not to play along & told the Government to stuff Part P where the sun don't shine what do you think the Government would / could do about it? Not a lot is my bet.

We're all slaves because we choose to be !!

It's the councils that have found an easy way to print money. The proposed P changes will make sod all difference, the way they'll be written, 'they' will still charge everyone the maximum amount of money they can get away with.

Your signature, GS, that'll be the lasses saying that then?
