Just wondering what the most expensive tool box item is, just bought a crimper £480 smackeroons ... anyone beat that? ... ps no meters etc just tool box tackle!

We need a link to these magic crimpers

There are some bootlace crimpers that I would love but they are £1200 (per cable size) so they are still in the shop.

They are for high temperature crimps, i have to use associated crimps too rated up to 700c, realised makeshift repairs wasn't the way to go as they failed after a yr or 2, these will last as long as the element themselves.

most expensive tool i ever bought was 1553 2nd hand. £280 calibrated. (apart from the van, which, after all, is a tool (or mobile toolbox)).

Expand please ...all I see is 4 numbers, please enlighten me... I was talking about tools that fit in your toolbox as a general item.

Megga testers.....I think?
I said excluding test gear, basically tool box gear. My MFT cost approx 1k but not part of my toolbox, looking at these crimps you'll be surprised they cost more than £30 quid but having used them they make a highly reliable crimp for the temps they are subjected to.

Unless you mean hand held probe testers which I could allow but a price tag would be nice.

Had some ratchet crimpers (25-400sqmm) that were more, the interchangeable lugs were 'arm and a leg' alone but was stolen from van :( so 'beg, steal (no not literally) or borrow' now when need a large lug crimper!

Set of Cembre hydraulic crimpers £800 :tearsofjoy:, wouldn't even dare add up my hand tools but I must be in for around £3k...
I got my Cembre hydraulic crimpers 2nd hand... nowhere near £800... it's the dies that cost the money though... I only have a few, for the work that I do.
