This thread titled "How should I approach getting an apprenticeship ?" is posted in the under the UK Electrical Forum on Electricians Forums.

For context my situation is a little bit different. Went to college a number of years ago passed lv 2 and 3 Can't remember the exact qualification maybe it was 2330.

I had to take a break from looking for work for reasons. I had limited experience down to no one wanting to take an apprentice on. I was thinking of passing the 18th edition and then searching for them asking around etc.

I know these are my options for looking work please add any i missed out.

1 ) newspapers
2 ) job searches online
3 ) family and friends of family
4 ) charities to help people get into work schemes.
5 ) electrical companies saying i will work for free for experience for a set time

If i can't pass the 18th edition this is where the road ends.

also what other qualifications should i consider getting from looking at jobs

2391 or 2392 Inspection & Testing
