Hello folks,

SY glands for SY cable have came to my attention in work, can anyone shed any light as to how these are correctly fitted, It looks and sounds straight forward. does the screen come into play somehow?

Hi martinm

If you use those glans with the slots on the threaded end: put the gland in the panel hole, strip the cable back so that the shield is approx 2" free, make two
halves out of the braid, twist it to sort of a wire, put one of the brass rings on the other side of the gland (threaded side) push the cable with the two braid bundles through the compression side and fold the braid into the slots, put the second brass ring over it and then secure the gland to the panel with the lock nut. Hope this helps.
