As above, it is blocking out the top line and when I close it, after I click on another page, it comes back, very annoying. BTW on IE10, so not exactly a dinosaur of browsers...lol

I get it as well. I'm on the works computer. Not allowed to download anything, so can't update the browser.
It doesn't bug me that much though.

Yes i get it too!! It has only just started showing itself following the recent technicall problems the forum had.

I would love to get rid of it for good as it comes up after every page change!

Anyone got any suggestions? Dan?

It's out of date so you get a notification. I've changed the notification to IE9 and below now though for you so IE10 doesn't get the message.

I'm on the works computer so I can't change it. Is there any chance of change it so it is just shown once per login?

The system isn't one we own or have installed. It's done via CloudFlare which manage the traffic coming into the site. So while we can change the browser version the message pops up for, we can't change anything related to the messages etc.

What version browser are you using?

Install addblock or similar, right click on the banner. Select block element.

I'm on the newest version of Chrome, on windows 8.1. It was still popping up for me.

Windows Internet Explorer 9....

Yeah I thought that at first Dan, but checked fire fox and I am on the latest version mate, I kept getting hits from bathroom companies trying to sell me sinks which I have never seen before anywhere except Facebook.

on the site here Dan on the main page I had adverts showing bathroom sinks mate, this was on the right under the main tool bar which had a sentence about out of date browsers even though I am on the latest browser.

I'd assume you were not logged in then. Ads are only shown to those not logged in. They're browsing the website for free and see Google adverts, they're controlled by Google, and aren't spam of any form. As soon as you log in, and as you have more than 10 posts, you don't see Google ads at all. Hence you not seeing any now.

In future, if you can screen print me the top of the forum when you see the adverts, it'll show us whether you're logged in or not.

[ElectriciansForums.net] How to get rid of the outdated browser bar, it keeps coming back Here I'm logged in. So no advert.

Here I'm not logged in. So there's an advert.

IE9 is a couple of versions out of date. Can your IT dept not allow you to upgrade?

I know mate. We have just moved up to this. Global company. IT person in USA. Not wanting to update IE due to some systems or somwething they use.
I'll just ignore the banner at the top of the page....

I've reduced the notice to those with IE8 and less, just for you, I want to see 1000 posts a day for that pal. ;) :D

haha. It's took me 5 years to get to 1000. Besides I'd have to talk rubbish to post that much and you delete any post that are off topic.. :)
