Hi guys,

I have a hoist that operates with a wired remote toggle switch; please see attached the hoist wired remote schematic.

I would like to build a control panel to replace the wired remote using two coil contactors. I am planning to use two Siemens contactor switches (3RT2026-1AK60 3-Pole 25A Contactor 120VAC Coil) for this purpose.

I need to know how I should be wiring these contactors to allow me to operate the Up and Down function of the motor, while not allowing engage both functions at the same time. I like to add the following features to the new control panel as well:

  • An emergency stop switch
  • An upper limit switch
  • A lower limit lower

I am familiar with electrical safety... your guidance on how to wire up the new circuit would greatly be appreciated!

I got my degree in the early '90s, however, never practiced in my discipline...hence I am very rusty. When I said I am familiar with electrical safety, I meant I could read schematics... but likely it would take me quite a while to do a new design... I am not dumb to do anything risky so thought I could get some support from you guys who are experts...
