How would you do this???

Hi All

Time to pick your brains, got a block of flats - concrete floor and ceiling Flats are only 20ft wide and 40ft long - very small!
Kitchen/Lounge area customer wants sockets along side walls. What route would you take? Am I right in saying cables run horizontally along the ceiling within 150mm in within the safe zone and can be done?

Any other ideas would be appreciated

Are you wiring in trunking or chasing cables in?

Personal I would run perimeter trunking at high level and chase down the walls. then run yt2 across the ceiling to lights and smokes.
or use proper coving trunking which looks very neat.

Why not use some skirting trunking? Chase up some conduits from behind the trunking to the sockets, switches and wall lights. It’s going to look better than any stuff going surface across the walls and ceilings.

Alright until the doorways get in the way I'd imagine but looks like tidy stuff depending on what the quality is like. I'd go high up myself and consider radials for the sockets as it will help reduce the number of cables you have to run.

you could just save yourself the hassle and get a false ceiling put in.

I did an apartment about 15 years ago for a guy who was high up at Edmundson Electrical the place cost approx £500,000.00 and over looked a golf course in Harrow but it was a pig of a job everything was concrete ceiling,walls and floor. It is not an experience i would want again.

I'm with GMES, I messed up once when pricing for social housing. Turned up lifted carpet and it was weyrock. Come to do the job and it was layed on concrete and so where the ceilings. They ended up dropping all ceilings which pulled me out the crap

We've just been house bashing new flats & use cable ties anchored to the conceret ceiling
like Cable Tie Masonry Mount 8mm Hole holder | Cable Ties | Fixings - Orbital Fasteners

we did 2 cable ties looped together & use one loop for 230v & other loop for bt, TV etc. routing was easy.
ceiling would then be installed.
