Hypervolt 3 pro install

Hi everyone.

Appreciate your advice here.

I'm meant to be installing a hypervolt home 3 pro EV charger soon.

There is a mains cable in place outside the house but no cat5 cable unfortunately. The customer sent me the hypervolt installation guide from the website, and I was trying to figure out if I needed a LV cable for load management. It mentions in the ALM (automatic load management) section that the ALM can be adjusted to regulate the max.charging current.

My question is, is this a built in laod management system, that can be used without an cat5/6 cable available at the position of the EV charger? I assume the EV charger comes with a CT clamp that will sit at incomer at distribution board? And a result, I can set the ALM to e.g 60A and it'll work that way?

Thanks all

Not done a v3, but have fitted a couple of v2.

I did use a cat5 and CT coil on the tails, but I think I recall that there was a switch inside that would limit the load… as well as a software limit in the app…. But the hardware switch overrides any app setting.

Can’t remember if it was set limits, ie 16/32/60A or a variable dial.

If I get a chance today, I’ll look at the v3 manual.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking as much given the bit of research I did. I was wondering how I would be able to communicate to the charger to taper down but the app would make sense.

I'm going to contact the supply authority just for peace of mind anyway to determine load capacity of the main fuse. The cut out is rated to 60/80a. No electric shower but there is a heat pump. Appreciate the willingness to have a look at the manual but don't go to too much trouble on my behalf.
