Hi David, but how come I can get 100 amps of current from the mains supply of a domestic premises which also operates at 230 volts, also there could be 5 houses connected to the same phase as your house and they will all still have 100 amps available to them.Hi Ajay, yes you are right, but voltage is only the potential to do work and needs current flow to produce power (P=V.I). The current flow is reduced by the voltage losses and impedances in the cct, so always less power out than went in (lost as heat somewhere). Some of this is fixed by operating the cct at -273c temp, but creating that takes energy too. Cheers, David.
