I can understand and accept that, but i would think very few here would be working under M&Q regulations.

I don't know how long you've been out in china E54, but the M&Q regs have been watered down an been made so open ended now it's a farce.

Just the last contract and the present contract, but haven't really worked in the UK for a good number of years now, the last being on a large shopping mall. I've never worked actually under M&Q Reg's, and only know bit's and bob's about them, from a good while ago too... lol!!

Have you done a design calculation for the extra load?of course you be adding extra load to your tails are these big enough to take the increased load?and if not, the cable supplying the installation by your electricity supplier may need upgrading.
using the design calculations check the loadings first.

That's as may be, but after seeing a transformer LV terminal box fail I'd rather it be contained in steel.

If a TX LV take off box connection fails, it isn't going to matter much if you have an all steel box or a box with an 8mm Paxoline type gland plate... Both are going to be a mess ..lol!!

These day's we are normally using Bus duct of various descriptions, on this job they are all gong to be of the cast/moulded resin type to the main multi feed LV Switchboards...
