Hi all,
I was wondering if someone with a lot more experience than me could help me out please.
I need to change a standard 2 plug 13amp socket to a 20amp supply with either a slow acting fuse or d-rated breaker to supply a 3 pin 16 amp female socket.
This is to supply an ice cream
Machine.
Whipped ice cream: Lunamil soft ice cream machines & milk shake machines

Thanks in advance for your time and patience.

All the best

all depends on whether or not you have the necessary skils/competence to carry out this work. if not, then call in someone who has. i'm out.

Sorry I should have more clearly explained earlier. It is a 3 phase power supply for a shop. The ice cream machine specs are
Power: 3 phase - 50 Hz 400V - 2.6 Kw
I need to get a female 3 pin 16 amp socket installed for it and was initally planning on changing a dedicated 230v twin socket for it.

And despite my best efforts to appear as I know what im talking about, clearly my over confidence is my weakness haha.

Thanks again for your replies

Ill stand corrected here but got the feeling the OP dosn't understand the concept of 3ph from the initial post to his other questions ..... apologies if im wrong but the only advice i will give and hopefully other will follow is get someone in who is qualified to do this job.

EDIT... il re-enforce this post as just re-read your post 18... you clearly dont understand what 3ph and its difference to a 1ph socket is so il re-iterate our advice is get an electrician!!!!!!

Im sorry to say your confidence lacks background on this occasion.

So if I were to do it myself from the consumer unit what would I need to do. Or equally, if I was to get a proper spark in to do it how much, ball park, would i be looking at.

Ive said it before and ill say it again thanks for your time and patience.

Too many variables here to allow us to guess on a price. Most sparks would come out to get a feel for the job and provide an estimate free of charge. Try posting up your rough location and I'm sure one of us would be glad to help

Righto, im going to bow out of the running and get in someone qualified. I just like to try and do things myself if I possibly can, not only to save money but also to teach myself something new.

Really think its for the best choice here and while hes there query him on 3phase so as to help you understand what we were saying, im sure he be too happy to explain the difference ;)

I'd have to agree with Darkwood's post pre edit here mate, I appreciate your willingness to have a go but by the sound of this you're out of your depth.

I edited it again after re-reading post 18.... wish i hadn't have touched now but added a new edit instead....... ruddy time it takes to write then goal posts boody move.... typical lol
